Dr. Brenden Calio
Dr. Brenden Calio originally from Hawaii, went to the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he got his Bachelors in Biology. Around this same time he was thinking about becoming a Medical Doctor. Dr. Calio was suffering from insomnia, loss of bladder control, neck and back pain, prostate problems, depression and chronic flu like symptoms.
It was not until a month after Dr. Calio received his first Chiropractic adjustment that he noticed his health improved. First was his back and neck pain, then his insomnia, and now he has none of these issues. It was Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care which changed his life and so his passion and drive is to help as many people as possible with Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care.
Dr. Charlene Poderoso
At 17 years old, Dr. Charlene Poderoso saw how her mom’s debilitating low back pain was affecting her home, work, and social life. Not only was her pain causing physical stress, but it also created emotional and financial stress for the entire family. When traditional medical treatment failed to reduce her mom’s suffering, Dr. Charlene encouraged her mom to see a chiropractor. After a month of starting chiropractic care, she noticed that her mom was able to go back to work, walk her dogs around the park, and enjoy quality time with her family without being bent over in pain. Her mom’s transformation inspired Dr. Charlene to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree from University of California, Irvine, Dr. Charlene continued her studies at Life Chiropractic College West where she graduated with clinical honors and received her Doctorate in Chiropractic. She recently joined HIO Chiropractic and loves working with families, especially children, because she witnessed firsthand how someone’s health can have a significant impact on the lives of their loved ones.
Outside of HIO Chiropractic, Dr. Charlene can be found learning the art of storytelling through Toastmasters, serving her profession through the San Mateo California Chiropractic Association, and looking for the best Ramen restaurants in the Bay Area with her partner, Dr. Brenden Calio.
